2007 - The year in Automobiles
2007 turned out to be a tumultuous year in the Auto Industry. We saw the break-up of Daimler-Chrysler, major restructuring within General Motors and Ford, Toyota threatening General Motors for No1, Porsche acquiring controlling interest in the VW Group (Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda, VW), the introduction of a record number of new vehicles, gasoline prices settling at $1/litre and the rocketing Canadian Dollar.
After what seems like a long period of frustration, Canadians are now starting to see the benefits of the stronger Canadian Dollar on vehicle prices. It's not done yet, but we've seen formal price reductions from Porsche and Audi, and behind the scenes price reductions from BMW, Lexus, VW, etc. New models are typically being introduced at lower prices for higher equipment levels and leasing deals are very good. 2008 may prove to one of the best times to acquire some automotive innovation!
All the best for 2008.

2009 Audi A4
May set the standard for Compact Sports Sedans; based on the A5, it's roomier, lighter, faster and handles better compared to the current generation A4. Expect the 3.2l version first, this Fall.
BMW 1 series
Available as either 128i (230hp) or 135i (300 hp), in Coupe or Convertible versions; this entry Bimmer delivers classic BMW performance in a smaller and 'slightly' less expensive package. Watch for the Coupes in Spring, the Convertibles in Summer.
BMW X6:
Available in either XDrive 35i (300hp) or XDrive50i (400 hp) versions, this Activity Coupe is a new spin on the SUV for those that don't need that much cargo space. Expected availability - Summer.
Mercedes-Benz GLK
The Compact SUV segment is heating up. This is Mercedes's take on the class currently occupied by the BMW X3, Acura RDX, and the new Infiniti EX35. Don't expect it till early 2009.
Volkswagen Passat CC
Following in the vein of the Mercedes-Benz CLS class; this VW is a drop dead gorgeous four-door Coupe. We should see it on our shores before the end of the year.
